Now it's official: Germany is not - and never will be - a hockey nation. Today's match versus Finland was a shame, Germany lost 0-5. The penalty killing was terrible and there were too many penalties, which is a bad combination. The goalie and most of the team were overstrained, the offense was mostly harmless (seems they're all Douglas Adams fans). In the second period there were indeed some scoring chances, but nothing really compelling. Where went the German virtues? Where was the spirit? I couldn't see any, maybe with the exception of Manuel Klinge, who at least tried.
Summary:
I am really upset that I got up at 6 in the morning on a Saturday just to see this epic fail and to listen to such great comments as "Germany has not given up" when they managed to have a single scoring chance in the third period just because the Fins weren't paying attention while changing their lines. That had to be said, thanks for listening.
Unglaublich, wie die Zeit vergeht: Heute, am Valentinstag, ist Tara schon sieben Monate alt geworden. Der Stand der Dinge: Sie trägt (noch) Kleidergröße 62/68 und Windeln Größe 3. Aber bei den Schnullern sind wir schon auf Größe 2 umgestiegen, und mit der Beschaulichkeit ist es auch vorbei, seit sie krabbelt. Außerdem ist sie inzwischen kein echtes Milch-Baby mehr - denn sie bekommt mittags Gemüse und Fleisch und abends schon Getreidebrei. Nur noch fünf Monate bis zur ersten Geburtstags-Party!
Am Freitag war Hennes Bender im Rahmen des Kabarett-Winters in Radolfzell. Trotz Doping (wegen Erkältung) war es eine sehr lustige Show, die aus ein wenig Improvisation und Dialog mit dem Publikum und natürlich aus seinem Programm "Egal gibt's nicht" bestand. Und obwohl ich Hennes immer als relativ unpolitisch wahrgenommen habe, waren doch ein paar Spitzen dabei, vor allem gegen einen meiner Lieblings-Spezies: Roland Koch. Aber ansonsten gab es den erwarteten Mix aus Ruhrpott- und Drei-Fragezeichen-Komik, mit der meine Generation durchaus etwas anfangen kann (ich persönlich finde es natürlich grandios), die aber sowohl für jüngeres als auch für älteres Publikum vermutlich eher schwierig zu verstehen sein dürfte.
